Programs are being transitioned to Technology Accreditation Canada (TAC)

January 6, 2023
As the current Canadian Technology Accreditation Board (CTAB) programs are being transitioned to Technology Accreditation Canada (TAC), TAC is undergoing an audit process with the International Engineering Alliance (IEA). The purpose of this audit is to ensure that the TAC accreditation framework meets the IEA accreditation requirements. The CTAB accreditations have signatory status under the Sydney and Dublin Accords and TAC needs to ensure that it's accreditation framework will also have signatory status with these two Accords.

The TAC Canadian Technology Standards (CTS), "Development and Revision Policy" (TACDEV-1) requires TAC to formally announce proposed changes on the TAC website for a period of at least 21 days. However, since the proposed changes are minor, not contentious and for the purposes of meeting IEA deadlines, the announcement period was held between December 21, 2022 and December 31, 2022.

The next review period, Stakeholder Review, requires TAC to post the draft CTS on the TAC website for a period of not less than 60 days. However, since the proposed changes are minor, not contentious and for the purposes of meeting IEA deadlines, the draft review period will be held for a period of 14 days from January 6, 2023 to January 16, 2023. The drafts can be accessed through our website at:  GLON 2023  |  GLOV 2023
